In an announcement from the US Government on Friday it was confirmed that the order covers conversion of 68 existing F15S jets to the new F15S-A configuration. The order was widely reported in June but had been awaiting the approvals from the US Government.
The work is to be undertaken at the Robins Air Force Base in Georgia and will be completed by the end of 2019. The Pentagon also said that the contract includes
spares and support equipment needed to achieveoperating capability for the fighter jets.
The Saudi air force have 150 F-15S aircrafts in operation.
