Quest Aircraft Company announced the sale of 12 KODIAKs to Blue Eagle Aviation Investment Management Corp. of Beijing, China. The first aircraft will be delivered in November, with deliveries continuing through 2015. The agreement also calls for options for additional KODIAKs.
Blue Eagle Aviation was named an authorized KODIAK dealer in July as part of Quest’s growth strategy to partner with premier local organizations. The company has focused on regions of the world where the KODIAK is certified or pending certification, along with those areas with the most market potential. Work on receiving certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is well underway, and is expected by the end of the year.
The versatile KODIAK’s rugged aluminum construction combines superior STOL performance and high useful load. It offers proven turbine reliability with the Pratt & Whitney PT6 turbine engine, has the ability to land and take off from unimproved surfaces and is capable of working off floats without structural upgrades. The KODIAK can take off in under 1,000 feet at full gross takeoff weight of 7,255 lbs. and climb at over 1,300 feet per minute.
Quest Aircraft Company is the manufacturer of the KODIAK, a 10-place single engine turboprop utility airplane, designed for STOL use and float capability. Headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho, the company was established in 2001 and begandeliveries of the KODIAK in December 2007.
